In lesson we
were given the task of filming a continuity exercise which includes the 180
degree angle, shot reverse shot and match on match action which i learnt while
completing the task .
First, i
filmed my partner walking up to the door then pushing down on the door handle,
i cut the camera at that moment and repositioned the camera on the other side
of the door where i then resumed and filmed her still with her hand on the
handle and walking through the door in order to achieve match on match action.
I then filmed Actress 2 who says "what you doing here" at this point
i included a close-up shot which was unnecessary, so i cut that extra shot
while editing on Final Cut Express, i then cut it there and resumed
filming Actress 1 who says "you know why I am here then back to Actress 2
, this is my example of shot reverse shot .The scene then ends.
In our media
lessons we were given the task of recreating the opening of a TV episode life
on mars the shots that were used included close-ups, side angle shots and a 360
degree shot.
My
partner and I had to watch the clip in order to see how long the shots were and
the order of the different shots so that we could replicate the clip as closely
as possible.
Once we had
finished using the camera and the dolly(to film the 360 degree shot) we then
edited the footage that we had filed on final cut express where we had to
match, the images we had filmed with the sound from the clip,we also were able
to cut the clips that we did not need.
From this
task I have learnt how to use the camera and how to edit using final cut
express for example how to cut and transfer the footage onto the editing
software.
